1. Provider and Scope
These Terms and Conditions apply to contracts for Certentis, a digital service provided by Acadeo GmbH, Rathausstraße 43, 57537 Wissen, Deutschland. They apply to consumers and, where expressly agreed, to businesses.
Individual agreements and details in the respective checkout take precedence over these terms. Deviating terms of the customer shall only apply if Acadeo GmbH has expressly agreed to them.
2. Services of Certentis
Certentis offers a Humanizer for controlled text rewriting, an AI scanner for the statistical classification of linguistic patterns, and a plagiarism check to identify matches and sources. The specific scope of services is detailed on the respective product page and at checkout.
Outputs and reports are generated automatically. Despite technical verification, linguistic, factual, citation-related, or classification errors may occur. Content and source references must be independently verified prior to use.
- No guarantee of a specific classification by an AI detector.
- No guarantee of grades, passing, freedom from plagiarism, or compliance with institutional rules.
- No professional, legal, or academic advice.
3. Account and Access
A personal account is required to use paid features. Registration is permitted for individuals aged 18 and older. Credentials must be kept confidential and must not be shared with third parties.
You must provide accurate and up-to-date information. If you suspect unauthorized use, notify us immediately and change your password.
4. Acceptable Use
You may only input or upload content that you are legally authorized to process and transmit to the service providers used.
- No unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive content.
- No third-party confidential data, trade secrets, or personal data without a legal basis.
- No circumvention of security, credit, capacity, or access restrictions.
- No automated mass retrieval outside of explicitly provided interfaces.
- Academic, professional, and institutional rules regarding the use and disclosure of AI assistance must be observed.
5. Word Credits and AI Scanner
The Humanizer and AI scanner consume word credits based on the words in the input text. For the Humanizer, internal repetitions and the output text are not billed extra.
Before processing begins, the required credit is reserved. If processing fails and no usable result is provided, the reservation is released or refunded in accordance with standard technical procedures.
One-time purchased word credit has no expiration date. Regardless of monthly or annual billing, subscription credit is released in monthly allowances. Each monthly allowance expires at the next monthly release or, at the latest, at the end of the paid billing period; unused subscription credit does not roll over.
6. Plagiarism Checks
A plagiarism check covers up to 10,000 words. Multiple purchased checks do not expire. Alternatively, 10,000 available words can be irrevocably converted into one plagiarism check; time-limited monthly credits are used first.
A report shows statistical matches and identified sources. It is not legally binding proof and cannot guarantee completeness or the absence of plagiarism.
7. Subscriptions
Plans designated as monthly subscriptions renew each month, and plans designated as annual subscriptions renew each year, until canceled. The price, scope of services, and next billing date are displayed in the checkout prior to completion.
An annual subscription is paid upfront for the full year. Once payment is confirmed, the first monthly allowance is released immediately and equals the monthly allowance of the selected plan. A fresh allowance is released each month while the subscription remains active. Unused words expire at the next release.
Subscriptions purchased on the website can be canceled in the Stripe customer portal; mobile subscriptions can be canceled in the subscription management of the Apple App Store or Google Play. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Upgrades within the same billing interval may take effect immediately and release only the prorated plan difference; downgrades generally take effect in the next billing period. Annual subscriptions are currently offered only on the website.
If a payment fails, is fully refunded, or is disputed, the release of new subscription credit may be suspended. Any unused current subscription credit may also be revoked. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
8. Prices and Payment
The final prices displayed in the relevant checkout include applicable value-added tax. Website payments are processed by Stripe; purchases in the mobile app are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Store purchases are also subject to the payment, refund, and subscription terms of the relevant store. Certentis does not receive complete card or bank account details.
Credits or checks are credited only after successful payment confirmed on the server side. Simply being redirected to the success page does not trigger a credit allocation.
9. Availability and Changes
Uninterrupted availability at all times cannot be guaranteed, particularly due to maintenance, security measures, or disruptions to external AI, scanner, database, or payment services.
Material changes to ongoing paid services will be communicated in a timely and transparent manner. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
10. Content Rights
You retain your rights to entered and uploaded content. You grant Acadeo GmbH the non-exclusive rights required for transmission, automated processing, verification, temporary storage, and provision of the requested results.
Customer texts are not used to train proprietary or third-party generative models. Third-party rights to sources, citations, trademarks, or other components remain unaffected.
11. Warranty and Liability
Statutory warranty rights apply. Acadeo GmbH is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, in cases of injury to life, body, or health, and under mandatory statutory provisions.
In the event of a slightly negligent breach of a material contractual obligation, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract at the time of contract conclusion. Material contractual obligations are those whose fulfillment enables the proper performance of the contract in the first place and on whose compliance the customer may regularly rely. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
You remain responsible for checking outputs, sources, and institutional guidelines before use.
12. Suspension and Termination
If there are specific indications of misuse, security threats, or a significant breach of contract, access may be temporarily restricted. Prior to a permanent ban, the nature and severity of the violation, legitimate interests, and potential objections will be appropriately considered.
You can request account deletion in the account area. Stripe subscriptions are ended during the deletion process. A subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play must first be canceled in the relevant store; account deletion will not start while its automatic renewal remains active. Statutory retention obligations may prevent the immediate deletion of individual billing data.
13. Right of Withdrawal
Consumers are entitled to the statutory right of withdrawal. Details can be found in the separate instruction on withdrawal, which is provided prior to the conclusion of the contract.
14. Final Provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as protection granted by mandatory provisions of the law of the state of their habitual residence is not deprived.
If the customer is a merchant, a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is the registered office of Acadeo GmbH. Statutory places of jurisdiction apply to consumers.
Should any provision be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
